Steadily making progress....while waiting.

One down and four to go means the pressure is starting to lighten, but I am by no means going into cruise control just yet. Just the binding to do here, which is Brooke's department, so I am nearly done and dusted on this one. I'm fairly sure the recipient of this quilt will sneak a peek at my blog before I hand it over, so if you do spot it Paula, please let me know what you think of it. The pattern is from the book Jelly Roll Quilts, by Pam and Nicky Lintott. With this one just about done, it means one thing.......

......that there is another one loaded and getting ready to go. Diane's quilt is ready and waiting, so will be the next stint I do at the machine. I am leaning towards the same pattern I quilted Paula's in for two reasons. Expediency and the curving lines of the quilting pattern will break the dominant angles that the hexagon blocks give this quilt. Here's hoping it's off the frame by the end of the week.
With class registrations opening today for Houston Quilt Festival, I wasted no time logging in and selecting my preferences. If I am able to get all my selections, I will be in for one very busy week of learning, from some very experienced professionals in the industry. So for the next couple of weeks, I play the waiting game, as I anticipate the arrival of an email confirming my class choices. I can tell you, tension and excitement are building at this end!!
Until next time, happy quilting.-Julie.

  2. Love the swirls on the first quilt. Can't wait to see the second. But I took a closer look at the second picture. How do you attach the quilt to the leader? I couldn't see any pins, nor zippers nor a bulge from the snappers.
